The deadline for sending objections to the Scottish Government was 12 December 2006 and an unprecedented number were sent in - at least 17,500. All the affected Local Authorities objected and a Public Inquiry is now under way.
We have already undertaken extensive preparation work for the Public Inquiry, which involved:
Developing and submitting our arguments
Employing experts and legal counsel
Raising a significant sum of money
What Do We Need To Do Now?
Continue to lobby our MSPs', MPs' and local Councillors
Make our presence felt at the Public Inquiry meetings - please attend if you can!
Continue our fundraising efforts - thanks to all of you who have contributed!
Continue to recruit new members and supporters to the campaign
Please contact us if you are able to help in any way to spread the word. Many people still have no knowledge of this development that will irevocably damage Scotland. Inform, and encourage your friends to take interest. Please pass on this website.
