The deadline for sending objections to the Scottish Government was 12 December 2006 and an unprecedented number were sent in - at least 17,500. All the affected Local Authorities objected and a Public Inquiry is now under way.

We have already undertaken extensive preparation work for the Public Inquiry, which involved:

1. Developing and submitting our arguments
2. Employing experts and legal counsel
3. Raising a significant sum of money

• Continue to lobby our MSPs', MPs' and local Councillors
• Make our presence felt at the Public Inquiry meetings - please attend if you can!
• Continue to support the work being done on undergrounding and alternatives to the 400kV overhead line
• Continue our fundraising efforts - thanks to all of you who have contributed!
• Continue to recruit new members and supporters to the campaign
